The Skull & Crossbones has been hand carved using the ancient intaglio technique. The shield shaped gemstone is a Banded Agate, which is traditionally the stone most often used in carving cameos and intaglios since the Victorian period. The White line in the stone contrasts with the black to give a striking appearance.
